Astrid Adele Giugni
I received my Ph.D. in English from Duke University, working on Early Modern Literature, Virtue Ethics, and the politics of the English Civil Wars and Interregnum.
In a prior life, I was an algebraic geometer. I received my M.S. in mathematics from MIT and my B.S. in mathematics and physics from U.C. Irvine.
I currently teach at Duke University in the English department and in the Information Science + Studies Program. I organize the Data & Digital Humanities cluster within the Rhodes Information Initiative at Duke (iiD) as well as a new graduate fellowship and training program for English graduate students, the Rhodes Fellowship in the Computational Humanities.
